There is a huge canyon between launching a car into space for fun (test, actually, dead weight) and having a web page where you can type in your card details to pay advance on your own purely marketing purpose circus car. You really don't see the difference? Of course, calling an impractical technical circus engineering is revealing.

The Gas Tank is big and very dangerious, runs for 1-2 seconds and needs hours to re'charge'.
No one was sitting in it for savty reasons but probably also weight.
Just changing the design and adding more electric power is not a real art. They could just do this without building a complete different car which will never see the market
