This is the guy who led a company to build and catch a flying 20 story building. Say anything else you want about the man (and there is a LOT to say) but he has a track record of achievements that no other human has ever come close to reaching.

Space lasers, man.

> he has a track record of achievements that no other human has ever come close to reaching.

Edward Jenner invented the smallpox vaccine. Smallpox killed 300 million in the 20th century alone and was eradicated in 1980.

Or maybe Norman Borlaug, who invented a kind of high yield wheat that is estimated to have saved a billion from starvation.

These certainly aren’t the kind of achievements Musk aims for (quite the opposite in fact) but I’d argue they have a far, far greater impact than anything he has even tried to do.

He’s got cooler demos though, I’ll grant you that.

He also has a track record of making promises that he never makes good on, or intends to make good on. In fact, almost all of the things you call achievements are things he did without making broad promises.

Elon is famously managed up by the point people at his companies. I don't really know how much credit you can give him besides having the bravado to greenlight stunts like this. Which, you know, cool -- it appeals to the 12 year old in all of us, which is about how mature he is.

Your obsequiousness is disgusting.
