you're talking to a senior software engineer on a forum of senior software engineers, the very men constructing our future. I'm looking forward to reading his response.

Nah. I figured that I might be kicking a hornet's nest, when I posted what I did, and have no interest in hanging out with the bees any longer. I'm sorry that I got everyone so riled up. I still stand by what I wrote, and don't particularly worry too much about what people think. Some will agree, some will disagree. It's a touchy subject, and will be, for some years. I've been through a number of these "paradigm shifts," and know the drill.

  • I respect the years of experience leading to your perspective therefore I do not intend to sting you and apologize for my behaviour if that has been the case. my comment was intended to be aimed towards software being grouped into a work class that mandates precision, while accepting tolerance thresholds that would be ruinous in any other engineering discipline. wishing all the best.
