Teach your son to leverage leverage.

Algorithmic feeds are in their "cigarettes are good for you" stage, but they'll get better. In the future (early signs include AI research report makers) tools will emerge that put you in charge, and that's really powerful.

An algorithmic tool - feed, or report-writer - that sifts a mountain of content & information to surface stuff you'll learn from and love, in response to a request you made? That's power. That's leverage. You save hours and get a fully cited and useful thing in response to your request.

An algorithmic tool that builds something in response to a prompt? Leverage!

We are headed for a future adundant with tools just like that. Depending how you use them, you'll get either enslavement, or immense leverage. Teach him nothing, and you risk him becoming a slave to algorithms controlled by others - just like the financially illiterate people out there today who fall into consumer debt or rely on payday loans.

Or, teach him to think deeply about leveraging the cognitive tools of today and tomorrow, and he'll be capable beyond anything our generation can conceive of.
