Fixed versions have been released slightly early, along with full technical details:

https://www.php.net/archive/2026.php#2026-10-21-5

RCE via OOM corruption - https://github.com/php/php-src/security/advisories/GHSA-w8hw...

RCE via stale global state - https://github.com/php/php-src/security/advisories/GHSA-6wmf...

From what has been coming out, this vuln has been known for a while. So they had time to have the patches, etc all prepared, and push everything out.

Still waiting on container updates and package updates. Not a peep from cpanel or plesk. What a mess

So the proposed mitigations (block multipart forms, disable upload progress) are actually helpful (if not necessarily sufficient).

Really, all previous PHP versions are affected?

  • Are there security patches for servers running old versions?

There are so many keeping old php versions alive for compatibility with whatever software

Also released on Docker Hub now

  • Are they though?
