Really good, though client quality/UI varies per platform. My relative's Roku client isn't as good as my Android TV client.

My only annoyance with the Android TV client is that preferences for audio/subs don't stick within a TV series. If I set audio to JP and subs to EN on episode 1, I expect that the preference would carry over next episode, but it doesn't always.

That's a really minor thing, though. Non techie relative doesn't have a problem with playback.
