I've heard that an NFC alternative to ApplePay & Google{Pay|Wallet} is Curve Pay, but sadly it requires KYC (while the former ones don't). Do you know if Walt will require KYC too? It's not clear from their website.
If I remember correctly in their newsletter they mentioned that they will, as it was unavoidable. But I'm talking from memory, that email is long gone from my inbox.

That is not the same Walt. I'm assuming you found the TrustPilot site for https://walt.io, which is some Telegram crypto thing from the US. What GP linked to is an independent wallet app that currently supports passes and is scheduled to support tap-to-pay in the near future.

I like the idea but it has some pretty suspect TrustPilot reviews, and its connection to crypto is a bit of a red flag to me.
