Binance is the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange. This is the crypto equivalent of JP Morgan Chase getting hacked.
The whole idea behind Bitcoin is that you can be your own bank. Binance is just an exchange. You cannot be JP Morgan Chase.
You can't be your own bank with bitcoin, you can be your own vault. Those are very different, and something that people can also already do today with fiat.
Maybe I need to start collecting gold bullion again. And dig it in the backyard
The problem is, just like with Bitcoin, when you need to use it someone could steal it
That's a problem with everything (apart from firearms perhaps). I think backyard gold is a solid idea, just make sure no one's watching you dig.
