Because they're all about what's best for them.
They want them to steal everything, they just don't want us to.
It seems all too common these days for tech startups to try to wall off a common good and try to sell access to what used to be free
These days? This is how spotify was found. Its same playbook. Steal everything and then do regulatory capture.
I don’t think it’s about what Anthropic does or doesn’t want us to use their tools for. They are in the business of selling compute via AI, the more people that use it the better.
This is about stopping future issues (real or perceived) that could lead to legislation curtailing usage of their tools.
