We should force some executives to enable their kids to play rublox on a non play integrity device.

That would solve the issue rather quickly.

Don't think this would work as well as you think it would. One of the privileges of being an executive is that you basically have unlimited access to money so their kids are playing roblox on ipads (each kid has their own).

  • It reminds me of this time I learned for the first time about heated driveways so I was talking to my coworker and friend about how if I was a multimillionaire, I would have one of those things and I would never have to shovel snow again. He replied by saying I don't understand how being a multimillionaire works.

    • I don't get it. Is it because rich people don't need heated driveways because they hire people to shovel snow? Evidently I don't understand either :D

    • I live in a country where it basically never snows and until I got to the 'never have to shovel snow again' part of your comment I was so confused about why someone would want a heated driveway. I was thinking 'do rich people like to walk around barefoot outside their home or something?'.

So anyway, maybe the cheaper solution to your snow problem is to move here to Ireland :D

  • Yes, but in this reality that I just developed the executive only get old phones they have to flash with custom ROMs which need weird kernel hacks to hide the fact that they lack attestation support from Roblox.

I fucking hate rublox for this. My children are not allowed to play this game for other reasons so the problem solved itself.

I like reusing old phones with custom ROMs.. it makes so much sense not to produce more waste.

Oh, the horror! The digital pacifier does not work on this weird cheap phone

Normies don't understand the that any computer should be able to run software from any other computer. They dont get the idea of the general purpose computer. They've bought into the idea of computers-as-appliances sold by steve jobs and others.

The executives you're talking about don't see an issue with this. Their solution for this is the same as everything else: spend more money and buy another device. User freedom does not even enter the equation.

  • Yes, and it's even worse than that. Phone, tablet, TV box manufacturers now routinely lock the bootloader of the devices they make. This means that even if you are willing to sacrifice device attestion for the sake of freedom, you can't replace the firmware/OS, unless some exploit or other workaround is found. These corporations treat the device as a storefront from which to extract additional revenue and spy on their customers for their benefit. It's truly shocking, and Apple convinced normies that it's normal.

  • What gives you the right to determine how others should use their computing devices? Or should want to use their devices?

    • They can use it however they want. Similarly, technically advanced users should be extended the same courtesy. As it stands, devices like iphones and etc are build to exclusively cater to "appliance operator". This limits the technical user, whereas if they were left as general purpose devices, they could cater to both parties equally.
