Landlords aren't developers, they don't control the supply.

All of the political representatives are landlords and they control supply through the legal system.

  • Again, landlord is a customer service job. It's developers that build housing, not landlords. Developers have representation landlords don't. After my city passed new tenant laws the city lost ~15k units which increased rents. In response the city asked landlords how to improve the market then proceeded to do nothing with what they were told.

  • If it was this simple, poverty would not be an issue. You’re reducing a serious problem to the most simple slogan and it doesn’t help anyone.
