There was a contest to produce programs generating large numbers in a version of C with integral types that hold arbitrarily-large integers: http://djm.cc/bignum-rules-posted.txt

Yeah, that was a great contest as well. Though the numbers involved are necessarily much smaller than even the BB numbers, because they must be computable.
